Mission Statement

The Staunton Performing Arts Center will be a regional theatre for local and visiting artists and will offer diverse, high-quality performances to enrich the lives of Shenandoah Valley citizens and visitors of all ages and interests.

Vision Statement

• A theatre district will exist in downtown Staunton where a variety of performances will be offered on any given day or evening.
• The historic Dixie Theatre will be renovated as a facility for performances on stage and screen and restored to its 1936 Art Moderne appearance.
• The theatre will present concerts, music, dance, national touring companies, community productions, lecture series and children’s theatre, as well as movies on the big screen.
• The theatre will offer professional performances for children during the school day.
• The theatre will provide comfortable seating, good sight lines and state-of-the-art sound, lighting and stage equipment.
